Week 1 - Focus on God | Day 7 - God is Planning Something Good

SCRIPTURE - Revelation 21:3-4

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

OBSERVATION

From the moment Adam and Eve sinned, God has been working to restore the relationship we've lost because of our sin. In this section of John's vision of heaven, we get a beautiful picture of that coming hope. God will dwell with us and among us. We will be His people, in His presence, forever. No death. No sadness. No pain. All will be made new. This is the place God has in store for us as His children.

APPLICATION

It's comforting to know that our eternity with God will leave behind our pains, hurts, and fears. But that doesn't change that we still experience sickness, financial need, stress, and heartache in the meantime. We must cling in faith that the best is yet to come for us, even if it doesn't look that way right now.

We can also be encouraged that God isn't waiting until heaven to give us glimpses of his glory, healing, and provision in our everyday lives! We trust that God is a good father. He is a powerful creator. He is a righteous king. As long as we are on this earth, He will give us what we need when we need it, even if it's not always what we ask for or expect. We can eagerly anticipate what life will look like one day in eternity as He planned it from the start: God, dwelling with His people. God is making all things new.

PRAYER

Have you created room in your heart to hope for what God has in store for you? Thank God today for the space He's preparing for you: one where pain, sickness, and tears are no more. Thank God that you'll be able to walk with Him and in His presence forever.

"God, thank you for having good things in store for me. As I look forward to a day when all pain and sadness are gone, I trust you with my life and heart. Help me to be filled with joy and hope for the eternity with you that is coming, and to trust you as I face the trials of my life today. In Jesus' name, amen."

I was born in the gospel, but often I feel disconnected from God because of activities

and stress life brings. And, that never distance God from me.

This year, I return to the source and want to stay connected to my God until his returns. Because I am nothing without him. I am hoping that he will give me a vision and testimonies.

I so appreciated this question to ponder with the Lord… have I created space in my heart to hope for what God has prepared for me (both here on Earth and in eternity). I want to make more space in my life to hope and anticipate God’s goodness during this fast and all year long!

I always remind myself that there may be temporary pain or heartache, but that His joy is coming. I view circumstances that occur in my life now as part of my testimony and a way I can bring hope to those who will go through the same situation after me. Everything has a purpose to share Jesus and all that He can do. He is a waymaker, chain breaker- a light in the darkness! Thank You Lord for carrying me through the darkest times and giving me an opportunity to share hope with others so that they may witness Your glory and Your love!

I thank God for delivering me. Even why I'm here in this present world. He promises that he would never leave me nor forsake me. He is with me now to help me in everything I go through in life 🙏🏾
