Who Are We?

The Oaks School of Leadership (OSL) exists to position students for effective leadership in a variety of capacities—including ministry, non-profit, and business leadership—by providing students with hands-on leadership training combined with the opportunity to earn a degree from an accredited university. OSL was founded in 2009, birthed out of a passion to give students practical leadership experience in order to immediately apply what they learn in the university setting.  Since 2009, more than 600 students have gone through the program and many serve in high-caliber leadership positions throughout our nation and around the world.

From Our Pastors

God has challenged Oaks Church to take our vision of “Growing Generations that Transform Communities” to unprecedented heights. Our response to what God has called us to do in Acts 1:8 is to EQUIP the next generation in our church (Jerusalem), ENGAGE communities (Judea and Samaria), and EXPAND God’s Kingdom (ends of the earth). The vision is so big that it’s going to take all of us to pull it off.
The Oaks School of Leadership (OSL) is a huge part of this effort. I’ve asked all pastors to invest 25% of their weekly time into mentoring, discipling, and training the next generation of leaders in the Oaks School of Leadership. We’ve also invested a large part of our finances back into scholarships for students. Jenni and I are praying for you. We love you and are very excited about what God will do in and through our church as we go on this journey together. Thank you for being a part of what God is doing at Oaks Church.

How It Works

Students enroll in 12 to 18 credit hours per semester with SAGU. Each semester, students will take a 3-credit hour leadership course that counts toward the fulfillment of their academic degree. The leadership course is taught by SAGU faculty. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, students will go to class at SAGU. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students participate in leadership development opportunities at Oaks Church.

The Oaks School of Leadership is located approximately 20 miles south of Dallas, Texas. The Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex is one of the fastest growing urban centers in the nation.

Though OSL is close to Dallas, Texas, our church and university campuses both have a “small town feel,” as both locations are in the smaller suburbs of Red Oak and Waxahachie, Texas.
