Local and Global Pastor
About Andy Lehmann
Full name: Andrew Phillip Lehmann
Ministry Role: Local and Global Pastor. Basically, I get to help figure out how The Oaks can come alongside and serve with other people, ministries, and organizations in our own community and around the world to see transformation take place.
Dream vacation: Hmm. Probably something involving the mountains. And the beach. Where there is wilderness to explore. And is close to a city. Is that asking too much?
What’s your regular order at Starbucks? Grande Dark Roast or an Americano.
Favorite movie: Braveheart
Favorite scripture: Psalm 27 is definitely one of them.
People who inspire me are: People who know who they are and are therefore free to focus on serving others.
Previous job or line of work: My first job was as a grocery store mascot at Fox’s Markets: “Foxy” the fox. I wore a very hot “Mickey Mouse” type costume and handed out lollipops to kids. More recently, I’ve been on staff with OneHope, an amazing organization that engages the next generation with God’s Word.
One thing that most people don’t know about me: That I was once a contestant on The Price is Right. Also, that I’m not very good at being a contestant on The Price is Right.
I’ve been in ministry since… I like to think that ministry is something that anybody who is following Jesus is involved in, so if that’s true, then I suppose I’ve been in ministry since I made the decision to follow Jesus when I was in elementary school.
Favorite singer or band: I love listening to worship music…Jesus Culture, Bethel, Hillsong, Harbour Live, All Sons and Daughters. Also a big fan of Coldplay, U2, DMB, James Taylor, Jack Johnson and House music.
Peeves: If you drive slowly in the passing lane, we will have a hard time being friends…at least if we are on the same road at the same time.
What sport are you not good at? I’ve never tried it, but I can only assume I would be a terrible Pole Vaulter.
Fears: Poison Ivy. I’m also recovering from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out…it’s when you tend to say ‘yes’ to everything because you don’t want to say ‘no’ to the possibilities of what could happen).
Favorite book: There are many and they tend to fluctuate with the “season” that I am in. Overall, When Heaven Invades Earth, by Bill Johnson tends to remain near the top of the list.
Quirks: None. I’m totally normal.
In my spare time… I love being active (outside if possible)…hiking, playing tennis, riding my motorcycle, etc. I enjoy playing music. I like reading, and apparently (based on my track record) I also like carving out time to read and then watching a movie instead.
Favorite TV show: The Office
Favorite actor: Morgan Freeman
Least favorite food: I used to hate rice. I don’t know how that’s even possible. There’s really nothing now that I won’t eat.
The most exotic place you’ve even been to: Probably to a remote village in Uganda where clothes were optional…for the indigenous people that is. For our team they were very much mandatory.
The most adventurous thing you’ve ever done: A friend and I backpacked into and through Haiti without any contacts or translators.
My hero: Is it too cheesy to say Jesus? Seriously, the more I learn about him and get to know him, the more my wonder at who He is explodes.
